40K Bags Of Heroin Nabbed In Parx Casino Drug Bust

Six people were arrested and the drugs were found in a vehicle at the Bensalem casino and an address in Philadelphia.

BENSALEM, PA — Police confiscated 440 grams of raw heroin and more than 40,000 bags of the drug packaged for sale in a drug bust that took place in part at Parx Casino in Bensalem.

Six people were arrested in the drug bust, including three who police say were in the country illegally from the Dominican Republic.

On Thursday, two search warrants also were served in Philadelphia as part of the investigation, by a multi-agency force that included the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, Bensalem Police, the NJSP Crime Suppression Unit, ICE, Philadelphia Police and the Bucks County District Attorney's office.

As a result, 440 grams of raw heroin, more than 40,000 individual bags of heroin and a stolen firearm were seized, police said. Some of the drugs were seized from a vehicle at Parx Casino and the rest at an address in Philadelphia, police said.

The following people were arrested and charged with felony possession of drugs with intent to distribute:

Alby and Estarlyn Hidalgo and de la Cruz were in the U.S. illegally from the Dominican Republic, police said. All of those arrested were sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
