7 Bucks County Towns Named Among Safest Places In Pennsylvania

Seven Bucks County communities were recently ranked among the safest in the state.

Lower Makefield, Buckingham, Northampton and Newtown were among several local communities recently ranked among the safest places in Pennsylvania, according to a report. Other Bucks County towns included on the list were Warrington, Warwick and New Britain townships, according to an analysis created by ValuePenguin.

Buckingham Township ranked first among the safest mid-sized cities (population 20,000 to 30,000) in Pennsylvania. Northampton Township was ranked first among large cities (over 30,000 residents). Upper Providence Township was ranked as safest among small cities (10,ooo to 20,000 residents.)

The personal finance company ranked the different towns in the state based on a variety of crime metrics sourced from the FBI.

According to its website, ValuePenguin collected the most recent crime data available from the 2014 FBI crime statistics by city, excluding towns with fewer than 5,000 residents since they are more sensitive to crime score fluctuations for fewer crimes committed.
