9 BHS Students Headed To State In DECA Competition

DECA is a business club designed to prepare leaders and entrepreneurs in the fields of marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

BENSALEM, PA — At Bensalem High School, 33 students recently took part in DECA's district event, with nine of them qualifying to move on to the state competition in February in Hershey.

About 450 students from 14 different schools competed in the district event. DECA is a business club designed to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in the fields of marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

The club is active in high schools and colleges around the world.

BHS students moving on to the state competition are:

  • Karina Kohli – 6th place in Principles of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Mueed Gondal – 5th place in Automotive Service Marketing
  • Ethan Fan – 5th place in Business Services Marketing
  • Nisarg Patel – 4th place in Human Resources Management Series
  • Yogesh Patel – 5th place in Human Resources Management Series
  • Shiv Patel – 5th place in Retail Merchandising Series
  • Meet Patel and Mihir Patel – 3rd place in Hospitality Service Management Team
  • Noah Brodecki and Deep Patel – 3rd place in Travel and Tourism Marketing
  • Aditi Rao and Emily McLaughlin – 5th place in Travel and Tourism Marketing

Business/Technology teachers and co-advisors Ron Morris and Tara Carroll are extremely proud of all of the members who competed and wish them well at state.
