ALDI In Bensalem To Open Remodeled Store

There will be a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony to mark the remodeling, which added fresh-produce space and more items.

BENSALEM, PA — Grocery shoppers in Bensalem will get their first look this week at a renovated ALDI store that's part of the company's $1.9 billion initiative to remodel and expand more than 1,300 stores by the end of 2020.

The reopening kicks off with a ribbon-cutting at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the store at 1445 Street Rd.

According to ALDI, the store's new layout includes added refrigerated space for produce and other fresh products. About 20 percent of the store's entire inventory will be new items, ALDI said in a news release.

It will have about 40 percent more fresh food, including organic and easy-to-prepare options, the release said. The grocery store's new design will feature open ceilings, natural lighting and uses environmentally friendly building materials.

The store will be open daily from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

"Our remodeled store layout makes grocery shopping even more efficient. Customers can easily navigate the ALDI aisles and find real savings on every trip," said Bob Grammer, Center Valley division vice president for ALDI. "We’re eager to reveal the new look of ALDI to Bensalem, where we already have passionate, loyal customers."

Founded in 1976, ALDI is one of the fastest-growing retailers in the United States, now operating more than 1,800 stores in 35 states, serving more than 40 million customers every month. As part of its current expansion, ALDI says it is adding 25,000 new jobs in stores, warehouses and offices by 2022.
