Bensalem Enters Dual Enrollment Partnership With BCCC

Bensalem High School seniors will be able to earn 12 credits from Bucks County Community College starting next fall.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Bensalem High School students will have additional options to earn college credit through a new partnership with Bucks County Community College.

The school district on Monday announced a dual enrollment partnership with BCCC, the second such arrangement for the school district.

“I am very excited about this additional opportunity for our students to earn credits on a college campus. This will better prepare them for post-graduation success,” Bensalem High School Principal Frank Flanagan said.

The partnership was developed as a result of the work of Brian Cohen, assistant to the superintendent Brian Cohen and Flanagan. It will begin in the fall of 2023.

The arrangement allows students to earn 12 college credits in their senior year in such subjects as English, sociology, and other elective courses.

School officials said that high school seniors should contact their guidance counselor with any questions or for further information.

Additionally, Bensalem High School has an existing arrangement with Holy Family University.

In other school district news:

  • The school district is celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week this week to acknowledge and recognize the teachers who make a difference every day in the lives of students.
  • The district welcomed 63 Bensalem High School students who were recently inducted into the National Honor Society. They joined the 71 current NHS members at a ceremony that took place on April 25.
  • The Spring Concert season ends this week with the following concerts:

May 8 —Rush Elementary Concert at 7 p.m.

May 10 —Valley Elementary Primary Concert (Gr. K-2) at 6:30 p.m.

May 11 —Bensalem High School Jazz Band Concert at BCCC at 7 p.m.
