Bensalem Hires New Special Education Supervisor
A new supervisor of special education has joined the Bensalem Township School District.

A new supervisor of special education has joined the Bensalem Township School District. Shannon McMahon, most recently the supervisor of special education for Bristol Township School District, was approved for the position during the Feb. 22 school board meeting.
According to information from the district, McMahon earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Temple University and her Masters of Arts in Special Education from Arcadia University. She received her Supervisor of Special Education Certification from Delaware Valley College.
She began her career in education as a learning support teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. She also taught in the Penn-Delco School District and the Centennial School District. McMahon was a training consultant and program coordinator for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit.

“I am very excited for this opportunity. Bensalem Township School District has always held a special place in my heart from my time supporting IU classes within the district,” said McMahon.
She has two children: Molly, 14 and Liam, 11. Her husband, Brian, is a police officer in Bensalem Township and basketball coach for the Bensalem Police Athletic League.
