Bensalem Man Threatened Woman With Knife At Wawa: Police

Police said the man, who reportedly grabbed the woman by the throat and threatened to kill her, was drunk at the time of the attack.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bensalem man who was drunk grabbed a woman by the throat at a local Wawa and threatened her with a knife, according to police.

Enrico Cortez Ivy, 40, is charged with multiple crimes in the assault, including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to court documents. The aggravated assault charge is a felony.

He was arrested by Bristol Township Police on Tuesday at the Wawa on Bristol Pike.

Ivy was at the store at around 5:42 a.m. when his victim, who was hiding in a bathroom, called police, The Intelligencer reports. An officer tried to talk to Ivy, who was leaning against a car listening to headphones, but he did not respond.

Police said Ivy smelled of alcohol, the paper reported. The woman told them he'd threatened to kill her, grabbed a fold-out knife from a nearby vehicle and attacked her. Police said surveillance video backed up her story.

Police said the two knew each other before the attack. He was being held at Bucks County prison on $200,000 bail, according to documents.
