Bensalem Ranked 359th Among PA Public High Schools: Report

Rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report had Bensalem High School at No. 359 among 750 high schools in Pennsylvania.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Bensalem Township High School has received a ranking of 359th among 750 Pennsylvania high schools in findings released Tuesday by U.S. News and World Report.

Hundreds of public high schools in Pennsylvania were ranked among the 2023-24 Best High Schools, according to the report.

The high school was ranked 143rd among high schools in the Philadelphia metro area and 8,903 nationally.

The high school received an overall scorecard of 49.64 out of 100.

The scorecard had 23 percent of township high school students taking at least one Advanced Placement exam with 17 percent passing. Meanwhile, students have 57 percent mathematics proficiency, 57 percent of reading proficiency, 62 percent of science proficiency, and a graduation rate of 85 percent.

The report provided numerous statistics about the high school:

Bensalem High School —which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year of its first graduating class —has an enrollment of 2,014 students and a student-teacher ratio of 16:1.

The total minority enrollment is 51 percent, and 48 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

Families can use the annual rankings to compare schools at the national, state, and local levels on factors such as academic performance, graduation rates, and college readiness, according to a news release. U.S. News reviewed 25,000 schools and ranked 17,680 of them.

In total, 750 Pennsylvania high schools were on the U.S. News list.
