Bensalem School Board Plans To Retire COVID-19 Policy
The Bensalem school board is also expected to adopt work sessions for its 2023-2024 budget at Tuesday night's meeting.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township School Board plans to put a pandemic policy out to pasture.
A motion is on the agenda for the school board to consider retiring its COVID-19 face-covering policy at the board's meeting Tuesday night. The policy was adopted in mid-December 2020.
The school board is also expected to interview candidates to fill the vacancy left by Michael Stewart, who moved out of the township. The agenda does not list how many applicants the board may be interviewing.

The board is expected to review letters of interest and resumes and then appoint a replacement who will then be sworn in at the meeting. The term is effective until the first Monday in December.

School directors expect to sign off on dates to discuss the 2023-2024 budget, which goes into effect on July 1.
The proposed budget is slated to be adopted at a 6 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, May 17.
The final budget is expected to be adopted at a 6 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, June 21.
Budget work session meetings are scheduled for:
- Tuesday, March 14, 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 11, 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 9, 6:30 p.m.
A public Q&A session will be held on May 17. And the proposed budget will be available for public review from May 17 through June 21.
All meetings will be held in the Dorothy D. Call Administrative Center, 3000 Donallen Dr. in Bensalem.
