BENSALEM, PA — A student from Bensalem has been announced as a recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from Dunkin' of Philadelphia.

Dhruv Parekh, a student at Pennsylvania State University Abington, was one of five Bucks County students to earn the scholarship.

Students in the Dunkin' Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program were selected from more than 2,000 applicants based on their academic record, demonstrated leadership and proven commitment to their schools and local communities.

Dunkin' and its franchisees in the greater Philadelphia area award the recipients with scholarships to pursue undergraduate degrees at accredited two or four-year colleges, universities or vocational-technical schools.

Parekh is a graduate of Bensalem High School and a rising sophomore at Penn State. He is secretary of the South Asian Student Association, a member of the Cyber Security Club and a volunteer at the Bucks County Public Library.

His is currently pursuing a degree in Information Sciences and Technology.
