Bensalem's Ranking Among Top-Performing PA High Schools: Report

Rankings released by U.S. News & World Report had Bensalem High School at No. 346 in state rankings.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Bensalem High School's ranking has been revealed among the top-performing public high schools in Pennsylvania, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The high school placed No. 346 among Pennsylvania high schools, the report stated. See who was ranked among the 20 best public high schools in Pennsylvania.

The top high schools have students who score exceptionally high on math, reading, and science assessments, as well as strong performance among under-served students. High school graduation rates and college readiness among graduates are also measured.

The high school was 8,901st among high schools nationally and ranked 134th overall in the Philadelphia metro area.

The high school received an overall scorecard of 49.58 out of 100.

The scorecard had 20 percent of high school students taking at least one Advanced Placement exam with 12 percent passing.

Students have 44 percent mathematics proficiency, 65 percent of reading proficiency, 17 percent of science proficiency, and an 86 percent graduation rate of 100 percent.

Bensalem High School has an enrollment of 2,120 students and a student-teacher ratio of 16:1.

The total minority enrollment is 52 percent, and 56 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

The US News and World Report Best High Schools ranking evaluates data from nearly 25,000 high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Almost 18,000 schools were ranked based on several key factors, including student performance on state assessments, graduation rates, and college readiness.

Families can use the annual rankings to compare schools at the national, state, and local levels on factors such as academic performance, graduation rates, and college readiness, according to a news release. U.S. News reviewed 25,000 schools and ranked 17,680 of them.
