Ambach and Keegan Honored by CACC

Juniors Sarah Ambach and Chelsea Keegan Receive All-CACC Volleyball Honors (11/9/12)

 

New Castle, Del. - Junior middle blocker Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) and junior setter Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) received All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honors this season as voted by the conference's 14 head coaches.  The conference announced this year's all-conference and major award recipients at this afternoon's annual awards luncheon held in the Doberstein Admission Center on the Wilmington University campus.
 
Ambach is earning All-CACC second team honors for the second straight season after earning postseason accolades for the first time in her career last year.  Keegan is also receiving All-CACC honors for the second consecutive season after being named Honorable Mention this year.  She earned second team honors last year as a sophomore.
 
Ambach finished her junior season leading the team in kills as she averaged 2.55 kills per set.  She collected a total of 268 kills to bring her career total to 779 kills, which ranks fourth all-time in program history.  In addition, Ambach set a new single-season record for highest attack percentage with a .312- percent breaking her previous mark of .302-percent that she set last year.
 
Furthermore, Ambach surpassed 200 blocks for her career after totaling 60 blocks this season.  She recorded 19 solo blocks to go along with 41 block assists.  For her career, Ambach has totaled 202 blocks, which is second most all-time in program history.  Former standout Rebecca Tett (Leesburg, Va./Notre Dame Academy) holds the program's record with 262 total blocks.
 
Keegan wrapped up the season with a team-best 817 set assists.  She currently leads the conference with a career-best 9.96 assists per set this season.  With her 817 assists this season, Keegan became just the second player in program history to record over 2,000 assists.  She currently has 2,029 career assists. Former teammate and All-CACC selection Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) holds the program's record with 3,889 assists.
 
Keegan also tallied 33 kills and 18 service aces this season.  She finished the year with 152 digs (1.85 d/s) and 21 total blocks, including three solo blocks and 18 block assists.  She is currently ranked tenth all-time with 51 career block assists.
 
Holy Family finished the 2012 season with a 13-18 overall record and concluded conference play with an 11-8 mark.
