Boyle Finishes Fourth at Goldey-Beacom Fall Classic

Wilmington, Del. - Freshman Jennifer Boyle (Monroe Woodbury, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) finished fourth overall as the Holy Family University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 11th annual Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic at Carousel Park on Friday afternoon.
 
Boyle, who was the Tigers' top finisher for the sixth straight meet, completed the race in a time of 20:58 to lead the team to a fourth place finish out of 12 teams.  As a team, Holy Family tallied 99 points.  Hood College earned the title on the women's side scoring 49 points. 
 
Sophomore Sarah Bariglio (Vineland, N.J./St. Joseph HS) was the next Tigers' runner to cross the finish line as she finished in the top-ten earning an eighth place showing.  Bariglio finished the course in a time of 21:30.  Junior Delainey Price (Cheltenham, Md./Frederick Douglass) finished in the top-20 as she finished 18th overall in a time of 22:50.
 
Other scoring finishes for the Tigers included, junior Valerie Miller (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) who finished 23rd overall (23:17) and sophomore Alexis Harris (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) (53rd - 26:37).
 
On the men's side, senior David Richardson once again was the Tigers' top finisher as he paced the team with a tenth place showing.  Richardson, who finished in the top-20 in all his races this year, completed the course in a time of 29:47.  Senior John Hill just finished outside the top-20 as he earned 21st place after crossing the finish line in a time of 31:38.
 
As a team, Holy Family finished eighth overall with 219 points.  Wilmington University won the team title after scoring 39 points.
 
Holy Family will compete next Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Blue and Gold Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware.
