BOX SCORE

Philadelphia, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Kevin McCollick (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.) scored the game's only goal to give the Holy Family University men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over visiting Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.

The win improves Holy Family to 6-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play, while Bloomfield falls to 5-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the CACC.

McCollick tallied his first career goal in the 42nd minute after a scoreless first half.  Fellow classmate Aiah Mbriwa (Abington, Pa./Philmont Christian Academy) started the scoring drive and then made a cross pass over the middle towards McCollick who found the back of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

That would be all the scoring in the game despite 30 combined shots by both teams.  Bloomfield held the edge in shots 19-11 for the game as well as corner kicks (7-4).  The Deacons had five corner kick attempts in the second half.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Aglira (Churchville, Pa./Archbishop Wood) faced 19 shots by the Deacons and made six saves in net to record his first career victory and shutout.  His counterpart, sophomore Kieran Moran, made five stops for the Deacons.

Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 10 as the Tigers host Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
