Men’s Golf Wraps Up Day One of Northeast Intercollegiate Championship

DAY ONE RESULTS


Waterbury, Conn. - The Holy Family University men's golf team wrapped up day one of the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship hosted by Post University Sunday afternoon at the Timberlin Golf Course.  It was the team's first tournament of the fall season.
 
Holy Family ended day one of the tournament with a team score of 353 to finish tenth overall.  Senior Robert Moratti (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) led the Tigers with a team-low score of 83 in round one to rank tied for 36th.  Fellow classmate Daniel Costello (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock North) carded a score of 85 and is currently tied for 43rd.
 
Other scores for Holy Family include, senior Charles Prendergast (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (48th - 92), senior Jonathan Burns (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) (49th - 93) and freshman Matthew DiNardo () (50th - 112). 
 
UMass Lowell leads the field with a tournament low-score of 304.  The River Hawks' Sylvain Debiais and Harry Hulme lead all individuals with low scores of 73.  Post's Thomas Rees also carded a first round score of 73. 
 
The championship continues tomorrow with day two-action beginning at 8 a.m.
