Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) sponsored the inaugural 'Wish Upon A Paw' 5k-Run/1-Mile Fun Walk, back on Thursday, April 18 on the Northeast Campus of Holy Family.
SAAC had over 70 participants and raised over $2,000 through registration fees, t-shirt sales and donations. All proceeds will benefit the 'Make-A-Wish' Foundation.
“We are so blessed and grateful for the tremendous support, both with the number of participants and for the generous donations,” said Associate Director of Athletics and SAAC Advisor, Robin Arnold. “This was SAAC's first 5K fund-raiser, and the money we raised for Make-A-Wish Foundation greatly exceeded our expectations. Thanks to everyone involved for a successful event.”
Senior cross country and track & field athlete David Richardson was the first male runner to finish the course (17:10.6), while freshman cross country and track & field athlete Jennifer Boyle was the first female runner to complete the course (22:05.2).
