Tigers Cruise Past Nyack, 77-45, on Senior Day

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's basketball team cruised past visiting Nyack College by the score of 77-45 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
 
Prior to the game, Holy Family recognized its four seniors competing in one of their final home regular season contests of the season.  The Tigers honored seniors Kelly Brady (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City), Ana Cruz (Lititz, Pa./Warwick), Molly Hanlon (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) and Erin Mann (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) in a pregame ceremony.
 
Holy Family, ranked fifth in the recent USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II National Top-25 Coaches' Poll, improves to 22-2 overall and 16-1 in the CACC.  The win marked the team's tenth straight victory as the Tigers continue to hold a one game lead over Goldey-Beacom College (15-2) for the lead in the CACC South Division.  Nyack is now 1-22 overall and 1-15 in conference action.
 
Mann led all scorers with a game-high 18 points (8-15 FG) to go along with five rebounds, while Cruz added 16 points and four assists.  Cruz knocked down a game-high four (4-10) three-pointers.  Brady also scored in double-figures as she contributed ten points, five rebounds and three assists.  She also recorded a game-high five steals on the defensive end.
 
Junior Mary Ellen McCollum (Abington, Pa./St. Basil Academy) chipped in seven points, while fellow classmate Katie Duma (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) added six points.  Sophomore Reagan Jewell (Winooski, Vt./Rice Memorial) also came through with six points.
 
For Nyack, senior Courtney Peay led the team with 16 points and six rebounds.  She shot 5-of-9 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line.  Fellow classmate Khamari Tellis also scored in double-figures with ten points, while freshman Jamie McKeither came off the bench and supplied the Warriors with nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.
 
Holy Family quickly mounted a double-digit lead within the first five-plus minutes of the game.  Junior Maggie Serratelli (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) scored a layup to make the score 16-6 at the 14:12 mark.  Holy Family would go on to lead by as many as 15 points on two occasions in the half, including a 37-22 halftime advantage.  Brady scored a layup with about a minute to play in the half to cap the scoring. 
 
In the second half, Holy Family maintained its double-digit advantage and even increased the lead to over 30-points.  A three-pointer by Cruz at the 9:19 mark gave the Tigers their biggest lead of the game by the score of 65-33. 
 
Holy Family shot 44.1-percent from the field, including 43.5-percent from deep range.  The Tigers drained 10 three-pointers (10-23) compared to only one by the Warriors (1-15).  The Holy Family defense limited Nyack to 33.3-percent shooting from the field for the game and forced 24 turnovers.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 19 as the Tigers host Chestnut Hill College in the team's final home regular season game of the year.  Holy Family is currently undefeated at home this season with a 12-0 record.  Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
