Tigers Win Fourth Straight With 3-0 Victory Over Goldey-Beacom

Wilmington, Del. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team completed the season sweep of Goldey-Beacom College with a 3-0 victory in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Wednesday night at the Jones Center.
Holy Family is now 10-14 overall and 8-5 in CACC action. The win also extended the Tigers season long winning streak to four games and marked the team's seventh win in the last eight matches. Goldey-Beacom is now 4-16 overall and 0-12 in conference play.
Holy Family rallied in the first set after trailing by as many as five points (18-13) and eventually tied the set 21-21 after a service ace by senior Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley). After exchanging points back and forth with Goldey-Beacom, the Tigers capped the set with two straight points to win 26-24. A kill by freshman Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West), followed by a service ace by fellow classmate Madi Mcshane (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) sealed the win.
Holy Family then made quick work of the Lightning with a 25-15 victory in set two and went on to clinch the match with a 25-19 victory in the third set.
Johnson and junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) combined for 26 kills to lead the Tigers' attack. Johnson tied her career-high with 14 kills to go along with seven digs and three block assists. Ambach tallied 12 kills and finished with three block assists as well.
Freshman Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) finished with eight kills to go along with three service aces, while fellow classmate Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) contributed seven kills, five digs and three block assists. Sophomore Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) led the team with 38 set assists. Mcshane led all players with a match-high 20 digs.
For Goldey-Beacom, Kadi McCoy led the team with seven kills and nine digs. Niki Receveur led the team with 11 digs marking the fourth time in the last five matches she recorded ten or more digs. Monica Dempsey finished with 11 set assists and nine digs.
Holy Family is back in action on Friday, Oct. 19 as the Tigers host cross-town rival in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
