Macy's Closing Neshaminy Mall Store

Macy's at the Neshaminy Mall is closing.

By Kara Seymour and Marc Torrence:

Macy's is closing its store at the Neshaminy Mall.

The store closure was announced Wednesday. The Neshaminy Mall location is one of 68 Macy's stores across the country that will be shuttered in order to save money, reinvest it in e-commerce and give a smaller number of stores a better customer experience, the company said in its announcement.

Three of the stores are already closed, final clearance sales will soon begin or have begun at six stores, and the rest will close by the end of the year, according to a company press release. These stores are part of the 100 closings announced in August by the department store. When that announcement was made, the specific stores that were closing were not named.

The company says the Neshaminy Mall location will be closed by the end of the year.

Associates at shuttered stores may have the option to transfer to nearby locations that remain open, the release said, and some full- and part-time associates will be offered severance packages.
