Car Impounded In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Bensalem
Bensalem Police still seek the driver of the Honda Accord that struck and killed a 14-year-old boy on Street Road early last month.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Bensalem Police have impounded the car they believe was used in the fatal hit-and-run of a 14-year-old boy on Street Road early last month.
Sgt. Glenn Vandegrift said Monday that police have impounded and executed a search warrant on a 2010 Gray Honda Accord with damage consistent with the fatal pedestrian crash.
Bensalem Police said a 14-year-old boy was struck and killed in the westbound lanes of Street Road just prior to the Route 1 overpass just after 10 p.m. on July 6.

Vandegrift said the vehicle was identified utilizing traffic cameras and stationary license plate readers that captured the state registration prior to the crash.
He said the vehicle was seized via search warrant from a residence off Bridgetown Pike in Feasterville-Trevose on July 13.

"We continue to investigate who the operator of the vehicle was at the time of the crash," he said, adding that no further information is being provided at this time.
The boy was with another boy crossing Street Road midway on July 6 when the Honda swerved out of the left lane to miss the first juvenile before striking the boy when he was standing in the middle lane, police said at the time of the incident.
The boy was laying in the roadway when he was struck again by a silver Hyundai Tucson, whose driver stopped.
