Santa Showing Up for Bensalem Township Tree Lighting Saturday

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Santa Claus will be busy in Bensalem in early December.

Santa will have breakfast with children and families on Sunday, Dec. 4, and then return a week later for an appearance at the township's Community Tree Lighting on Sunday, Dec. 10.

The tree lighting ceremony begins at 5 p.m. at the Bensalem Township Municipal Building.

Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo along with members of the Township Council and Parks and Recreation Department will be on hand for the festivities at the municipal complex.

A non-perishable food item is the price of admission to help feed the hungry, township officials said.

The township changed up its festivities due to the pandemic. Anyone attending the ceremony must drive through the holiday display to ensure safety, officials said.

In other township holiday events this weekend:

  • The Neshaminy Square Shopping Center will host its "Amazing Christmas Village" on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4201 Neshaminy Blvd in Bensalem. There will be food and beverage trucks and a demonstration offered by the Bensalem Police Department's K-9 Unit at noon.
  • The Bensalem Township Public Safety Toy Drive luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Texas Roadhouse on 1545 Street Road. Adults are $10 with a new, unwrapped toy or gift card. Children age 6 and under are free with a new, unwrapped toy or gift card.
