Council Leadership Changes For 2023 In Bensalem Township
The Bensalem council named Edward Kisselback as president and Joseph Pilieri as vice president at Tuesday's reorganization meeting.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The township council will have new leadership for 2023.
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo opened Tuesday's reorganization meeting by stating it was his 3oth for the township.
He then asked Councilmen Edward Kisselback and Joseph Pilieri how many reorganization meetings they've participated in and both said 27 years.

And those two veterans will lead the council for this year.
Kisselback and Joseph Pilieri were both unanimously approved as president and vice president respectively.

The mayor shook hands and congratulated Kisselback, who replaces Joseph Knowles. Knowles was named as secretary.
"Thanks to the council members for having the confidence in me to be chairman," Kisselback said.
Debbie McBreen was unanimously appointed as assistant secretary and municipal clerk.
"You do a great job. We're happy to have you," Kisselback said.
Penn Community Bank was also named the official depository for the township.
District Judges Joseph Falcone and Michael Gallagher swore in a long list of the mayor's candidates for various township boards and departments.
The mayor offered his thoughts for the coming year.
"I hope 2023 is better than 2022," the mayor said in closing the meeting. "Covid's over, but if it's not over, hopefully, it will soon be over and we will be back in business as normal. I thank council for all of your support tonight and all the volunteers who go on the boards. If always, Bensalem will get a lot done."
Kisselback thanked the mayor for his three decades of service.
Pilieri thanked the police and fire departments for their service.
Knowles congratulated Kisselback on his appointment and Pilieri for his support and also thanked the council for allowing him to serve as council president last year. He also recognized Councilwomen Stacey Champion and Michelle Benitez for their contributions during their first year on the council.
The council's next meeting is Monday.
