The candidate’s announcement is the first for the 2024 congressional race for the district that covers all of Bucks County and part of Montgomery County.

Fitzpatrick, a Middletown Township resident, has not made any announcements about running for re-election.

In an October Patch profile, the 34-year-old Ehasz said she received her education at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the University of Oxford.

Ehasz said she would represent constituents using her background as a commander in the U.S. Army.

"It was my job to ensure that Americans from all races, backgrounds, and creeds worked seamlessly together to achieve a common goal: defending the nation," she said at that time. "I will bring this same experience to Congress, working with any member, regardless of party, to achieve success for my country and my community."

The 1st Congressional District covers all of Bucks County and a portion of Montgomery County, including Hatfield, Franconia, Salford, and Montgomery townships, parts of Horsham Township, and the boroughs of Hatfield, Souderton, and Telford.
