BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township Zoning Board has continued a hearing on an appeal of an electronic advertising billboard sign that was rejected by the zoning officer for Street Road.

Thursday's agenda called for the continued hearing of a monument display sign proposed by Premier Media LLC for 1900 Street Road near its intersection with Hulmeville Road.

But a representative close to the matter said Friday that the hearing has been continued.

The proposed digitized sign is 10 feet by 30 feet and would include one giant panel for advertising and then two spots on the signpost, according to a review of the plans.

In April, Kenneth Farrall, the township's zoning officer, rejected the building permit application, saying that electronic graphic signs require special exemption and that the proposed sign's square footage of 300 square feet was more than the township allowed.

Farrall stated, in a township letter denying the application, that Premier Media needed to resubmit a full new set of plans and note changes before the sign could be reconsidered by the zoning board.

Farrall could not be reached for comment Friday.

Attorney Julie L. Von Spreckelsen of Blue Bell-based Eastburn and Gray, PC, who is representing Premier Media LLC through the appeals process, resubmitted the plans in early May.
