Extradition Pending For N.J. Man In Bensalem Township Robbery: Police

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A New Jersey man will be extradited to the township to answer to robbery and assault charges against an elderly man two weeks ago.

The New Brunswick (N.J.) Police Department arrested Tyrick Miranda on an active warrant on Oct. 11, the Bensalem Township Police Department announced. Extradition is pending.

Miranda is charged with robbery and aggravated and simple assault against a 70-year-old man. Bensalem police had obtained an arrest warrant in the incident, in which the elderly man was punched and kicked in the face and knocked unconscious.

Once the victim fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious, police said Miranda went through his pockets, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and kicked the victim in the face two more times before fleeing.

Police did not state when and where the incident took place.

The victim was hospitalized for his injuries.
