BENSALEM, PA — The family of a boy who passed away while he was a student at a Bensalem middle school has donated a new, electronic scoreboard to the school in his memory.

Jason Rubin was just 13 in 1998 when he died from a bacterial infection. He was a student at Cecelia Snyder Middle School in Bensalem, where he was on the boys basketball team.

On Thursday, the school unveiled a new scoreboard before an exhibition basketball game between faculty members and the girls basketball team. It was funded with $5,000 from a memorial fund Richard and Gail Rubin established in their son's memory.
