Firefighter Released From Hospital After Bensalem Township Blaze

Bensalem Fire Rescue is investigating Saturday's fire at a Bridgewater Road building in which a Nottingham firefighter fell from a ladder.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Fire investigators returned to the scene of a Bridgewater Road commercial building Monday to try and determine the cause of a blazethat left a firefighter injured.

The firefighter from the Nottingham Fire Company was released from the hospital Monday evening after he was listed in stable condition at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Bensalem Fire Rescue said. He was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

While performing ladder company functions, the firefighter from Truck 65 fell about 25 feet from a ground ladder, fire officials said.

Fire officials and the Bensalem Township Police Department would not release the name of the firefighter at this time.

"We want to thank everyone who has called, texted, sent messages, or has taken the time to stop and see our member who was injured on the 2nd alarm on Box 28-06," the Nottingham Fire Company said in a Facebook post. "Our member and his family are very appreciative of everyone's well wishes. The firefighter is in good spirits and is still recovering at the hospital. Please continue to pray for the family and his continued recovery."

Fire Investigators with Bensalem Township Fire Rescue and the ATF continue to investigate the cause of Saturday morning's fire at 1388 Bridgewater Road (Ebooks).

The fire started at 9:17 a.m. Saturday with the Newport Fire Company responding to a water flow alarm. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active fire and multiple fire companies responded to the two-alarm fire.
