Flash Flooding Grips Lower Bucks Co. Communities

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — When fast-moving storms dump heavy rain into the region, the usual suspects in Lower Bucks County tend to get the brunt of the damage.

Monday morning was no different as streets in Bensalem and Bristol townships experienced flash flooding, causing road closures and having several vehicles nearly underwater.

In Bensalem Township, authorities reported that Station Avenue and State and Street roads received the most flooding from Monday morning's storm.

Bensalem Township had deployed all emergency personnel to try and ensure the safety of residents as the area flooded.

The Bensalem Township Fire Rescue Department even had boats ready to rescue people if necessary.

At least two vehicles were reported to be stuck in floodwaters, officials said.

Meanwhile, in Bristol Township, the Bristol Township Fire Rescue reported flooding on Cedar Avenue and several roads near the Neshaminy Creek.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly reported that both towns received over 3 inches of rain on Monday.
