Former Bensalem Middle School Up For Sheriff's Sale

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A former township middle school in the township is set for a sheriff’s sale next month.
The former Armstrong Middle School at 2201 Street Rd. is scheduled for a sheriff's sale on Aug. 9.
The 35-acre development site is going to be sold following the bankruptcy filing of the property's owner, the Suburban Realtors Alliance said. It's being touted for large-scale, mixed-use development.

The Bensalem Township School District sold the school for $6.3 million in 2020 to 2201 Street Rd LLC.
That company was controlled by Jignesh “Jay” Pandya, the owner of the national restaurant chain Boston Market.

2201 Street Rd LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 13. The company noted the property value at $20 million.
The Bensalem Township Council approved a land development plan for the site in November 2021 that included more than 150,000 square feet of space to be built across 11 buildings, the Alliance said.
"The Hub at Bensalem" called for 40 residential units, a grocery store, an office building, a bank, a convenience store, and restaurant and retail space.
