Hero's Welcome As Injured Bensalem Township Firefighter Returns Home
Bensalem Township's emergency units lined the street to welcome Nottingham Firefighter Nick Altomare, who was injured in Saturday's blaze.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Nottingham Firefighter Nick Altomare is happy to be home. And he received a hero's welcome after being released from the hospital Monday night.
Members of Bensalem Township's emergency services lined Altomare's street to welcome him back afterhe sustained injuries battling a blaze at a commercial building on Bridgewater Road Saturday. WATCH VIDEO BELOW.
"We are happy that Nick was able to 'escape' the hospital after a brief stay and will be able to rest more comfortably at home," the Nottingham Fire Department posted on its Facebook page. "Thanks to the neighbors who also came out to welcome Nick back. Nick is not out of the woods just yet. He still has a long road ahead."

Fire officials did not report what injuries Altomore suffered after he fell about 25 feet from a ground ladder.
He had been listed in stable condition at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries before being released.

Bensalem Fire Rescue, Bensalem EMS, Newport fire company Station 44, Cornwells Fire Company- Station 16 and Bensalem Police were all among the emergency units waiting to greet Altomore.
"Welcome home brother! We are happy you are home with your family," the Cornwells Fire Company posted.
Fire investigators with Bensalem Township Fire Rescue and the ATF continue to investigate the cause of Saturday morning's fire at 1388 Bridgewater Road (Ebooks).
The fire started at 9:17 a.m. Saturday with the Newport Fire Company responding to a water flow alarm. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active fire and multiple fire companies responded to the two-alarm fire.
