Holiday Food Drive: 3,000 Items Collected At Bensalem Township Schools
Bensalem High School and Snyder Middle School students gathered non-perishable goods to donate to families in need and help feed the hungry.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Bensalem Township students collected more than 3,000 items during recent holiday food drives at two schools.
The annual Bensalem High School canned food drive gathered more than 2,700 canned goods and other non-perishable items with donations going to families in the Bensalem community.
"Many thanks to the English teachers that collected the donations, the Community Service Club members that helped pick up the items from the classrooms, the Marine Corps JROTC cadets who helped with the collection and moving of the cans, and MCJROTC Leadership Instructors Col. Church and Master Sgt. Worthen for their assistance. Congratulations to Ms. Jordan's 7th
period class for collecting the most items and winning the pizza party," the school district said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Snyder Middle School’s student council held a food drive in conjunction with the Bensalem Lions Club. Snyder students collected 581 items, which will be donated to local families in need.
