Marine Corps JROTC Cadets Promoted At Bensalem High School

Eleven cadets move up the ranks for "sterling efforts" from the last marking period of the 2021-2022 marking period.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Cadets at Bensalem Township High School are moving up the ranks.

September promotions were announced for Marine Corps JROTC cadets by Col. John C. Church, Jr., USMCR (Ret.) head leadership studies, senior marine instructor; and MSgt (Ret.) Shawn Worthen, USMCR marine instructor.

The promotions are a result of the cadets' "sterling efforts" from the last marking period of the 2021-22 school year and their continued participation in the program, a school press release states.

The promotions are for:

  • Cadet First Sergeant: Nicholas Donnelly
  • Cadet Staff Sergeant: Jacob Huttenberger, Michael Sit
  • Cadet Sergeant: Alessandra Alosi, Shu-Chen Chiang, Malachi Duncan, Samantha Flynn, Nyah Hyers
  • Cadet Corporal: Whitney Morine DaCosta, Raphaella Pappachan, Kaylynne Thomas

"We know these cadets and their families have overcome significant challenges to continue to learn and lead," a press release states. "These promotions reflect that response to those challenges."

The Bensalem High School MCJROTC Leadership Education Program develops character and enhances citizenship in youngsters. The Naval Honor School program produces young men and women who are ready to accept the responsibilities.

"We are rightfully proud of these cadets," the release states.
