Mass Shooting Prevention Training Provided In Bensalem
About 300 Philly region members learned lessons on how to prevent a mass shooting by Florida law enforcement who were at Parkland.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —They heard the horrors.
On Valentine's Day six years ago, 14 students and three staff members were killed during a mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.
Law Enforcement responded to this chaotic scene and faced the unimaginable, but they still had a job to do.

The Coral Springs Police Department led the efforts to apprehend the killer, clear the school, treat the wounded, and assist in the healing process of those impacted by this tragedy.
On Tuesday, The PA Southeast Chiefs Association and PARX Casino hosted Coral Springs Deputy Chief Ryan Gallagher and Major Scott Myers for a presentation of their agency’s response that day.

"Their presentation was an eye-opening, firsthand account of the dreadful environment they encountered, with insights as to what proved effective and what areas needed improvement," officials said.
The training was provided to more than 300 people with the audience including police, fire, and EMS personnel from around the Philadelphia region as well as school district officials and municipal leaders.
"The lessons learned will hopefully help us prevent these tragedies from occurring and prepare us for our response to critical incidents," officials said. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost their lives that day and all who were impacted."
