Motorcycle Gang Member Ordered 'Hit' On Bucks Woman: Police
A Philadelphia man arrested after a Route 13 traffic stop made a call from jail to place a "hit" on a Newtown woman, state police said.
TREVOSE, PA —A member of a motorcycle gang arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop ordered a "hit" on the Bucks County warrant victim while making a phone call from jail, state police said.
A 52-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with solicitation to commit criminal homicide, intimidation of a witness, and other related charges after being pulled over by a state trooper from the Trevose barracks at 1:24 a.m. Feb. 17 on Route 13 in the area of Edgely Road in Bristol Township, police said.
Police spotted a red motorcycle pull onto the highway and make an illegal U-turn while the traffic light was red to travel south on Route 13.

During the traffic stop, state police discovered that the man was wanted by the Lower Southampton Township Police Department on a warrant for a simple assault.
After the man was in custody, he was allowed phone calls, state police said.

During the phone calls, the man made statements consistent with ordering a "hit" on the victim of the warrant, a 42-year-old Newtown woman, police said.
After reading the Lower Southampton police report on the warrant, state police determined that the man allegedly went to the woman's workplace in January and pointed a firearm at her.
Police also determined that the man was an active member of a motorcycle gang.
State Police did not provide the identity of the man.
