Musical Magic Made By Bensalem School Orchestra

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township School District Orchestra had the world on a string recently, at least for a day.

Orchestra members participated in the Bucks County Music Educator’s “String Day” Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4.

String Day is a one-day festival held in the Council Rock School District, this year at Holland Middle School, featuring the top string students in grades 7-9 from all over Bucks County.

The students were given concert music when they arrived in the morning, rehearsed throughout the day, and performed a concert in the afternoon.

"Our musicians did a great job performing some extremely challenging music," school officials said.

Among the orchestra members were:

• Bensalem High School: Jude Sakkal, first chair cellist, Jared Santos
• Robert K. Shafer Middle School: MaryJo MacAdams, Sabiha Nexhbi, Lily Sweeney, Kaidin Tran, Benjamin Thai, Erin Overlander-Lutz, Avika Vora, Greg Winters, Thomas Obeid
• Cecelia Snyder Middle School: Mackenzie Carney, Eva Lang
