New App Will Track Bensalem School Buses

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Want to track a Bensalem Township school bus? Now there's an app for that.

The Bensalem Township School District is introducing the app as a new tool for students and parents to track their school buses.

The Rally's Bus Status system notifies students and their families about school bus delays and cancellations. Bus updates are sent instantly to the school district's website and to the phones of students and their parents and guardians, school officials said.

The Bus Status mobile app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play.

Parents and students select their bus(es) in the App and receive a push notification any time their school bus is delayed or canceled.

School officials said the App is for non-public school students and their families as well.

The school district also provided Frequently Asked Questions about the new app:

1. Who updates the bus statuses in the App?

The statuses in the App are set by the school district's transportation team.

2. Why didn’t I receive a push notification for my delayed or canceled bus?

To receive bus notifications, you must enable notifications in your device settings and add your bus(es) to My Buses in the App.

1. Go to the My Bus tab in the App and verify that your bus(es) has been added. If the bus has not been added to My Buses, go to the All Buses tab and tap the Star next to your bus.

2. Verify that notifications are enabled for the Bus Status App in your device settings.

3. If you have followed the steps above and are still not receiving notifications, go to the District tab in the App and tap the Reset App button. You will then need to select your school district and add your bus(es) to My Buses.
