Father Philip Forlano, pastor of St. Charles Borromeo, said he is grateful for Sister Koreen Marie’s
presence at St. Charles.
"Sister Koreen Marie’s assignment to St. Charles demonstrates the I.H.M.’s continued commitment to the long tradition of Catholic education at St. Charles and faith in the future of our parish school," he said. "Her ability to speak Spanish and pastoral experience in
the Latin American mission can only serve to make our parish school more welcoming for our
increasingly diverse parish community."
Her appointment comes as St. Charles has been designated by the archdiocese as a pilot school for the new STREAM curriculum. STREAM refers to a curriculum model that integrates science, technology, religion, engineering, art and math.
The school also has received funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to become a 21st Century Community Learning Center.
Saint Charles Borromeo School will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2020. For information on admissions, you may visit the school's website.
