As fall fades out and the winter weather approaches, Bucks County has just what you need to stay warm and get ready for the holidays.

As fall fades out and the winter weather approaches, Bucks County has just what you need to stay warm and get ready for the holidays. From festivals featuring everything apple to dazzling holiday light displays, there are plenty of reasons to explore the countryside this month.

· November 1-2 – Apple butter, fritters and pie, oh my! Enjoy your favorite apple dishes made from fresh, local ingredients, as well as a pie eating contest at the Apple Festival at Peddler’s Village. After you buy a bushel of crisp apples fresh from a local orchard, listen to live music and explore this beautiful 18th-century style shopping village right in the middle of Bucks County.

· November 6- April 2 – Try the best of local food, produce and handmade goods at the Indoor Farmers Market in New Hope. Every Thursday head to the Event Center by Cornerstone between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to visit this one-stop-shop for everything local.

· November 08 – Arrgh matey! Have you always wanted to be a pirate? Join David Engel for his Pirate School sponsored by the Bucks County Performing Arts Center to learn the ins and outs of being a high seas marauder. Laugh along as you and your kids live out your dreams of being a swash-buckling buccaneer, but the good kind of course!

· November 08 – Grab your binoculars and head to the Churchville Nature Center for the chance to spot snow geese, tundra swans, colorful ducks and more! Birding Brigantine takes you to the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge where you, along with a trained guide, will spot these fascinating native birds and learn more about the environment in which they live.

· November 08 – It is never too early to start shopping for the holidays! Find a variety of great gift choices at The Craft Show at the National Shrine of Saint Katherine Drexel this season including holiday-themed crafts, raffles for gift packages and more!

· November 08 – Join the Jameson Sisters for a Concert at the Castle, featuring Henry Mercer’s favorite Celtic songs from his collection. With mandolin, harp and soaring vocals, this duo brings to life music from the past, all in the beautiful interior of Mercer’s palatial former home, Fonthill Castle.

· November 11- December 30The Pearl S. Buck House & Historic Site will be decking their halls this holiday season for their Holiday House Tours. Enjoy a special guided tour of this historic former home of Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author Pearl S. Buck as it’s lit up with a dazzling holiday display.

· November 14 - November 23 – Visions of sugar plums will dance in your head when you see Town and Country Players’ performance of Tchaikovsky’s classic, The Nutcracker. You’ll be transported into the ballet as Clara and her Prince battle the evil Mouse King and head to the Land of the Sweets where the Sugar Plum Fairy lives!

· November 15-16 – Celebrate the release of a fresh and fruity wine during Le Nouveau Festival Weekend at Crossing Vineyards and Winery. Try Le Nouveau as well as some of your favorite fall wines fresh from the vineyard. As you chat with your friends and sip delicious wine, enjoy music on Saturday, November 15 from B.D. Lenz, jazz guitarist and on Sunday, November 16 from The Sister Blue & Mark Furman Duo.

· November 15 – Step back in time and celebrate Fall Fling at Historic Fallsington. This historic and beautiful “Village That Time Forgot” is the perfect backdrop to your fall festivities! The evening starts with a cocktail hour followed by a delectable buffet and an auction immediately following.

· November 15 – Unwind after a long week during Jazz Night at the James A. Michener Art Museum. Robbi Kumalo, who began her career singing with performers like Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige, will take the stage with Grammy-winning bassist, composer and vocalist Bakitihi Kumalo for this spectacular musical event.

· November 16 – Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year in Bucks County and what better way to enjoy it than with a Fall Woodland Walk at Churchville Nature Center? Take a stroll through the woods on this guided tour to see what is happening in nature this season and learn all about the unique plants and animals that call this area home.

· November 16 – Take home beautiful pieces of art all while supporting a great cause at the 18th Annual George Bramhall Memorial Art Exhibition & Sale at Event Center by Cornerstone. Artwork from 23 of the region’s finest artists will be available for purchase and through a raffle for charity. Forty percent of the proceeds received will go towards research at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

· November 21 – Bring the kids to Grand Illumination at Peddler’s Village for the chance to see Santa light up the village and turn it into a twinkling winter wonderland. Try some hot apple cider or toast marshmallows before browsing the Gingerbread House Competition and Display.

· November 22-December 14 – Take the whole family to Sesame Place® where they can dance and sing along to special Christmas shows, great music, their favorite rides and more at A Very Furry Christmas! Don’t miss the Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade and a very special visit with Santa.

· November 22 – No parents allowed! Keep the kids out and about with an exciting night of rock-climbing, eating pizza and having fun during Kids Night Out at Doylestown Rock Gym & Adventure Center. Take time to enjoy a night to yourself while your kids are in a safe and fun environment.

· November 22-November 23 – The Emmy-winning performers from the hit children’s television show Imagination Movers will bring their show as well as their favorite holiday songs to life at the Imagination Movers’ Reindeer Party at Sesame Place®. Jump, move and shake your jingle bells to this fun holiday performance for the whole family!

· November 25-January 06 – The Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem, Bucks County’s official tourism promotion center, will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the 9th Annual Bucks County Holiday TreeFest! Each of the twenty-five artfully decorated trees that adorn the Visitor Center’s main gallery is donated by a local business or non-profit organization. Entertainment will be available select weekends throughout the duration of the event.

· November 27-January 04 Millions of lights illuminate acres of farmland for the 20th Annual Holiday Lights Display at Shady Brook Farm. Don’t miss Santa’s arrival by helicopter to kick off a season filled with whimsical light displays featuring your favorite characters. Enjoy the lights from the comfort of your own car or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the twinkling wonderland! If running through the lights is more your style, you are in luck! Get your sneakers on and get ready for a unique experience Friday, November 21 during the Run the Lights race that takes you straight through the dazzling light display.

November 28-December 7 – Join the best artisans and crafters from the area at the Pearl S. Buck House & Historic Site during the Holiday Craft Show. After your tour of the beautifully preserved home, peruse through this collection of crafts, gifts, fine arts and antiques at this one-stop shopping trip!
