Police And Firefighters Receive Accolades In Bensalem Township
Bensalem's public safety director, a police officer, and two firefighters received community awards. Police also completed a food drive.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The township's police and firefighters received accolades recently from several community organizations while the police department also concluded its annual food and toy drive.
On Dec. 7, the Bensalem Rotary Club announced awards for its Policeman and Fireman of the year.
At the club’s annual Christmas party, Police Officer Brian Oliverio and Firefighters Thomas McCool and Mark Pachucki were named as the recipients of this year’s awards. The Rotary Club said they were chosen by their departments for service to the community.

Meanwhile, Bensalem Township Director of Public Safety William McVey was recently recognized as "Guardian of the Year" by the Bensalem Kollel & Outreach Center for the "strong relationships he has built in our community and the exceptional level of service that he and our police department consistently provide to our residents," Councilwoman Michelle Benitez posted on her Facebook page.
"Director, thank you for your leadership, partnership, and friendship," Benitez said. "You make us #BensalemProud."

In other police department news:
The police department teamed up with members of the Bensalem Lions Club, Bensalem Public Works Department, and other community members in its annual tradition of providing food and toys to needy families in the area.
Volunteers distributed food baskets and toys to more than 180 families.
Bensalem Lions Club and the police department would like to thank everyone who helped with the collection of food and the distribution of the baskets. A special thank you also was sent to the community partners who donated food and toys.
