Record Store Day is Saturday

A few record stores in the Bucks area are celebrating Record Store Day on Saturday.

The sixth annual Record Store Day is Saturday and a store in Levittown and Newtown are celebrating.

While Newtown Book & Record Exchange has a full lineup of live music planned, Positively Records in Levittown just plans to do what it does best: sell records.

Book & Record, which is located on State Street next to the Hardware House, will host live music by local artists from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. See the full lineup here.

Record Store Day, which is held on the third Saturday in April, started in 2007 as a way to celebrate independently-owned record stores, according to the event website.

"This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day," according to the Record Store Day website.
