"Women’s Animal Center is thrilled to be a part of the first “Rescue Dog Day” and we thank Rep Tomlinson for initiating this important day in Pennsylvania," Malkemes said. "As America’s First Animal Shelter™ founded in 1869, we know all too well the importance of bringing attention to the many dogs and other animals who need homes in our State. We encourage anyone who is considering a new pet for their home to adopt from one of the many animal shelters or rescue organizations in our community. Adopting a Shelter Pet Saves Lives."
