Rockhill Drive Intersection Overhaul Coming In Bensalem
PennDOT will hold a virtual meeting on Phase III of its Route 1 project to improve the Rockhill Drive/Neshaminy Boulevard Intersection.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —While progress continues this summer on the Route 1 project, PennDOT is getting ready to roll on another phase and wants to tell the public about its plans.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plans to overhaul the Rockhill Drive/Neshaminy Boulevard intersection as part of Phase III of the Route 1 Improvement Project.
PennDOT said the project —which would improve congestion at the intersection and along Rockhill Drive —is currently in preliminary engineering stages.

PennDOT invites the public to attend a live virtual public meeting to reveal its plans for the Rockhill Drive and Neshaminy Boulevard Intersection Improvement project to improve congestion at the intersection and along Rockhill Drive.
This transportation improvement project is currently in preliminary engineering and extends along Neshaminy Boulevard from Palton Road to Bristol Road, and along Rockhill Drive from the northbound U.S. 1 off-ramp to just east of the Rockhill Drive/Neshaminy Boulevard Intersection.

As part of PennDOT's public outreach program, the department encourages the public to attend the live virtual public meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. by clicking on this Microsoft Live Teams meeting link prior to the presentation start time.
The department’s design team will deliver a project presentation before opening the meeting to questions using the Q&A feature.
PennDOT said that new structures over the Neshaminy Creek, the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange and adjacent rail lines, and Rockhill Drive at the Neshaminy Exit are in various stages of completion this summer.
Section RC2 is part two of PennDOT’s three-phase project to improve four miles of U.S. 1 in Bucks County by reconstructing and widening the pavement, building several bridges, and improving several interchanges along a continuous three-mile section of highway in Bensalem and Middletown townships.
RC2 construction is expected to be completed in mid-2026.
In 2014, PennDOT completed $14.8 million in improvements at the U.S. 1/Maple Avenue Interchange in Middletown Township as part of their overall initiative to modernize and upgrade the U.S. 1 corridor in Bucks County.
