The 51-year-old Wells Fargo Bank employee was unanimously appointed by the board Wednesday to fill the unexpired term of Eugene Rothenberg.
Elected in 2007, Rothenberg resigned about a month ago after missing most meetings over several months. He has declined to discuss his reasons.

The term runs until the first Monday of December.
Lesnevec, who works as an IT project manager, was one of four applicants for the seat, who all spoke briefly at Wednesday's board meeting before the appointment.

She said she has lived about 30 years in the township and has two children in college. When her children were attending the local school district, she said she volunteered in the schools.
“I believe that education is very important and this is my next step, to be a part of the board,” she said.
The other candidates were Patrick McGorty, a retired educator from the Philadelphia district; Ryan Inch, a civil engineer pursuing a master's degree in education; and Ronald Falkenstein, who said he has lived in Bensalem for 35 years.
