School Lane Charter School Students raise over $4,000 for the American Heart Association
Students at School Lane Charter School joined forces with the American Heart Association through “Jump Rope for Heart” May 5-9. The program teaches students to take care of their hearts while fundraising and being active. Since its inception nearly 35 years ago, Jump Rope for Heart has raised money to help reduce the number of deaths from heart disease and stroke by almost 25 percent. Students went above and beyond their goal this year to collect $4,052.95. According to the American Heart Association, the money allows the organization to work with health care providers. Following the collection of donations, students jumped rope during their physical education class.
