'Strong' Thunderstorm, Hail Moving Over Bensalem: NWS (EXPIRED)

A strong thunderstorm that is passing over the region is expected to be near Levittown around 7:25 p.m.

A strong thunderstorm that is passing over the region is expected to be near Bensalem around 7:30 p.m. and could bring with it pea-sized hail and wind gusts of up to 40 mph, the National Weather Service is warning.

In a special weather statement released Tuesday evening, the NWS said the storm is moving southeast at 25 mph and will be near the following locations:

  • NEWTOWN AND FEASTERVILLE-TREVOSE AROUND 715 PM
  • LANGHORNE... FEASTERVILLE...AND WOODSIDE AROUND 720 PM EDT.
  • LEVITTOWN AROUND 725 PM EDT. BENSALEM... BRISTOL... BEVERLY AND TULLYTOWN AROUND 730 PM EDT.

Forecasters also warn cloud to ground lightening is possible with this storm. “Lightning can strike 15 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle,” the NWS said.
