The Women's Animal Shelter in Bensalem Township is offering pet owners tips to share their meal without dogs getting sick on Thanksgiving.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends for a festive meal. Many people might want to include their dogs too in the feast.

But knowing what part of Thanksgiving dinner to feed dogs will prevent them from getting sick.

For example, turkey is good but stuffing is not.

The Women's Animal Shelter is offering tips for dogs to celebrate the festivities safely with their owners.

"We understand that for some, they may want to include their furry family members for dinner too," the shelter said in its Facebook post. "Women's Animal Center wants to make sure you are informed on what Thanksgiving favorites are dog friendly, and which can be unsafe and harmful for your pup."
