In all, 40 residents received free facials, makeup, haircuts, blow dries and manicures at the Neshaminy Mall institute.

BENSALEM, PA — Some women working through hard times to better their lives got a little bit of pampering in Bensalem recently.
Jean Madeline Aveda Institute, in Neshaminy Mall, hosted a Day of Beauty for residents of Libertae, a residential program that helps and houses women recovering from addiction.
On Thursday and Friday, 40 Libertae residents received free facials, makeup, haircuts, blow dries and manicures at the institute. Refreshments were served and raffle baskets were handed out during the two-day event.

Organizers say the Day of Beuty was intended to give women in recovery some confidence and as well as giving them a rare day of pampering.
"Giving back is an essential life tool, and it’s important our students learn and experience that," said Samantha Wilson, the event's coordinator and a Jean Madeline educator. "Being able to provide makeovers on these women was really powerful and emotional on both our students and residents.

"Most of the residents had never experienced some of the services they received, and the amount of gratitude for it was endless."
During the event, Therese Dougherty, Libertae's director of development, added her thoughts.
"The women are beaming with smiles from ear to ear, and you can see how much better they feel about themselves," Dougherty said. "It makes me so happy to see that."
