Worker Critically Injured After Falling Through Skylight In Bensalem

Bensalem Fire Rescue said the worker fell through a roof skylight six stories into the lobby of the Radisson Hotel on Thursday.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A worker was critically injured after falling through a roof skylight at a township hotel last week, authorities said.

Bensalem Fire Rescue responded at 11:40 a.m. Thursday to the Radisson Hotel at 2400 Old Lincoln Highway to assist Bensalem EMS with a worker who was critically injured after falling through a roof skylight six stories into the hotel's lobby.

Fire, EMS, and Police arrived and discovered the victim was impaled by a piece of furniture.

The Bucks County Physician Response Team was activated, while EMS providers were performing advanced life support care.

Firefighters from Bensalem Fire Rescue used stabilization and rescue equipment, including a bandsaw to remove the victim from the object.

All the emergency service personnel worked together effectively and efficiently and were able to successfully coordinate a rescue plan and on-scene treatment.

The worker was transported to a local hospital and OSHA responded to the scene to perform a workplace injury investigation.
