2nd Annual Monocacy Way 5K Run Set For Father's Day
Prizes for the fastest times, as well as special prizes in honor of Father's Day will also be awarded.

The 2nd Annual Monocacy Way 5K Run will take place this Sunday, June 17, and special prizes will be awarded in honor of Father's Day, as well as individual awards for the fastest run times.
The trail run starts at 9 a.m. sharp at . Parking for the event is in the Martin Tower lot off 8th Avenue.
Mayor John Callahan will run in the annual 5K race, a benefit for the , it has been announced. Last year 65 runners participated.
will present $25 gift certificates to both men and women with the fastest times in four age groups.
The fastest father-and-daughter or father-and-son team will also win a $50 gift certificate from . Other prizes for father-and-daughter/son teams will be awarded also.
The event benefits CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transportation trail programs to popularize the Monocacy Way.
"Thanks to the efforts of our Parks & Public Property Department we have a beautiful trail that is just a five-minute walk from downtown," says CAT Director, Steve Schmitt.
The MW5K is sponsored by the which stables their horses at Burnside Plantation along the Monocacy Way.
