Geezer Hockey League Closes Out the 2013 Winter Season Dedicated to Mark Niemkiewicz and Raises $2,500 for the Musella Foundation
Bethlehem, PA, March 16, 2013 – The Geezer Hockey League (GHL), Inc., will be closing out the Winter season, which was played in dedication to Mark Niemkiewicz. Mark, a founding member of the GHL and a great friend and teammate, passed away in June 2012 after a long fight against brain cancer. In honor of Mark, the GHL Family raised $2,500 to be donated to the Musella Foundation during a ceremony at 8:30 PM on March 17th at the Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem, PA following the last of three divisional championship games. The championship games are scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
The Musella Foundation (www.virtualtrials.com) is a non-profit organization dedicated to speeding up the search for the cure of brain tumors, improving the quality of life and survival times for brain tumor patients, organizing the brain tumor community and providing direct assistance to patients diagnosed with brain cancer and their families.

The GHL Winter season opened up in September 2012 with a ceremony dedicated to Mark and a puck-drop by his wife Marie. Twenty teams of geezers competed in three divisions wearing commemorative jerseys for a chance to play Sunday night for the Geezer Cup where their names and ages will be engraved on the Cup.
